Holiday Cottage for 15 in Stocksbridge, Yorkshire

Nestling at the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District is Unsliven Bridge Farm. Originally a large Farm House and barn built in the 1600s.

This property has now been converted into a luxury holiday cottage, retaining its original stone exterior, wooden beams and window seats. With many spacious rooms and plenty of outdoor spaces with enclosed garden and separate meadow, which has little don river meandering through its grounds. It is an ideal cottage for celebrating special occasions. However Unsliven Bridge Farm is not suitable for late night parties or celebrations which may create excessive noise or result in the property being mistreated.

Need to Know

Kitchen & Living Spaces

Wine and dine under the wooden beams with your family and friends in the well-equipped kitchen at the large dining table, perfect for hosting those special occasions. This huge space has a finely built spiral staircase in the centre of the room allowing the seating area to still be part of the kitchen, keeping everyone close and connected. French doors open out on to the front garden and are great to open on warm summer days. So, whether you’re cooking or relaxing this space has something for everyone.

This characterful room retains its impressive original stone fireplace, which fills the living room wall floor to ceiling. Sit back and unwind on the comfy sofas in front of the fire. A quiet corner of the house to escape to after a family meal or on a winter evening, if you fancy a board game with family and friends or to read a book.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Whether you’re looking for a family or cosy room you will be spoilt for choice with 7 delightful bedrooms and bathrooms to choose from in this spacious cottage. With the bedrooms been on 2 separate wings of the house this gives guests ample space within the cottage. Most rooms have charming window seats nestled within the old stone walls. With 4 bedrooms opening up into the eaves of the cottage, showing off the original oak beams, making them even more spacious.

Garden & Grounds

With South facing gardens you can enjoy the sun all day long, day dream whilst gazing over the flower beds and watching the wildlife visiting the feeders. You will soon have the ducks joining you for dinner, whilst the garden birds sing you a merry tune.

Whether laying on the grass, sitting on the garden furniture or picnic tables in the meadow, cooking on the BBQ or relaxing in the hot tub the garden/meadow has lots to offer for a large family or friends. If the older children require more space for their fun and games, they can venture down into the meadow where both sides of the river can be explored. Please supervise children at all times.

Games Room

To entertain the competitive members of your family the games room offers great entertainment with an air hockey table and table tennis. This large room has a sofa, bean bags and a TV. Although the TV does not have an aerial connection please feel free to bring your own console equipment and games.

The cottage entrance has a plenty of space for muddy boots and hanging coats. The utility provides 2 washing machines, tumble dryer, 2 large freezers and practical space away from food prep areas.

Reviews

“the best stocked I have ever come across”

“The cottage (if you can call it that as it is enormous) was beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and was the best stocked I have ever come across. Heaps of pans, dishes ect which is so so helpful when you are cooking for the hoards! Comfy sofas, beautiful grounds and a hot tub.

The owners were friendly, helpful and obviously take great pride in what they do. A real pleasure.

Not a lot to do in stocksbridge itself but within half an hours drive there is a wide range of activities. Our teenagers ice skated, roller bladed, rock climbed, swam, bouldered and walked the dog for miles in the lovely countryside around.

Highly recommend.”

“Lisa was very welcoming”

“Our second visit here and really loved it. Sixteen of us, age range of 6 months to sixty-three and a dog.

Accommodation was exactly what we needed and very comfortable.

Lisa was very welcoming and we found so much to do and see in the area”

“Beautiful properties, in gorgeous surroundings”

“This was a BIG family celebration and 17 of us stayed (spread over the Farm and the Barn).

Two Beautiful properties, in gorgeous surroundings and both extremely well equipped with everything you could need.

We would highly recommend anyone wanting to spend time in either of these properties.

Thank You Lisa and Nick”
